Abstract:A summary of the development of the world and the thermo-dynamics are of industrialisation is given to justify the need to reduce the use of carbon fuel in our society. The passive design of buildings to provide light, thermal capacity, and ventilation, so as to provide good control of the internal environment without mechanical and electrical systems is described. The influence of the height of the building on the passive principles is outlined.
