| Abstract: | Accumulating evidence indicates that previous understanding of the environment in which the Pons–Fleischmann effect occurs is wrong. The environment is not highly loaded β-PdD. Instead, it is a complex alloy that may or may not contain palladium. In addition, the size of the domains in which the nuclear reactions take place is critically important. This new insight requires different explanations and experimental approaches than have been previously used. |
