| Abstract: | The characteristics of currents, waves and turbulent velocities in and above submerged vegetation and the resulting wave attenuation are examined in a series of laboratory experiments and using simple theoretical models based on the mixing layer analogy for vegetated flows, the time-averaged momentum equation including the horizontal drag force, and linear wave theory. | |
