Abstract:Artificial optical media based on nanostructured silicon fabricated through electrochemical porosifying of Si substrates are investigated. The strong optical anisotropy in the infrared and visible spectral ranges is found and discussed in the framework of a model of anisotropic silicon nanocrystals. The observed absorption anisotropy of surface vibrations agrees with the model proposed.
