| Abstract: | A series of double well quantum dots consisting of alternating CdS and HgS layers have been synthesized. The structures have been investigated with UV/VIS/NIR absorption and emission spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy. Furthermore, the results of the optical spectroscopy are compared to theoretical calculations within the effective mass approximation. | |
