Abstract:The two-phase flow measurement using imaging technique, called Bubble Tracking Velocimetry: BTV, is developed to measure instantaneous elliptic bubble shape and its moving velocity from the two dimensional project plain by the shadow graph method. The BTV measurements is applied to the surf zone waves. The characteristics of void fractions, air bubble distributions, and bubble size spectra are measured for surf zone breaking waves in the laboratory. The two unique power-law scaling of bubble diameter spectra is investigated by the BTV measurements.
