Abstract:The present paper aims at studying transient cavitation bubbles (TCB) jet plasma when such phenomenon like load rejection happens in a hydropower plant; this phenomenon creates a significant cavity at downstream. This process generates abundant tiny bubbles at the micro or nanolevels. The cavity collapses more violently; therefore, higher energy density in the cavity contents is produced. The level of collapsed energy and frequency is controllable by the use of air injection. The load rejection tests at a specific operating regime are utilized to investigate the released energy, which is much more than that of regular TCB experiments.
