Abstract:The inclusion of phonon exchange in a nuclear reaction is accomplished most easily when the associated matrix elements are written explicitly as a function of the nucleon spatial co-ordinates. We report on the wavefunctions and matrix elements for the special case of a T = 0 4-body deuteron–deuteron fusion reaction.
